Stone-rose soul

Written by Citadel
Inside the cider sea swims the twin depravity
Of unbridled lust that’s ridden by despair
Within the sin of man is where the loneliness began
Contemplating shallow-mating, love’s warfare
Though the face is just a case of fixing passion to the eyes
It’s the rational of fashionable cold-fusion that burns deep
So the fish swims to the dish, baited by cybernetic sighs
Whilst the fisherman breathes acid in his sleep

Consideration, contemplation, both to him are just a game
A screenplay that’s yesterday’s pain born anew
For the lonesome soul this loving is a mirage with a name
A spectre, no respect there for the truth
Inside the tide resides the sure certainty of hope
How it’s hidden!, though it’s ridden every time
The feelings, unrevealing to the one who spurns the rope
Are mourning the stone-rose soul that rues the sign

Moral morass, heart fused in glass, yet seen through encrypted smoke
A wasted man, a clarion whose calls he will fail to renew
A mocking face, a silent trace inside the blood that mourns the joke
Yet laughs in aftermath, for the women never knew
Living the shame, speaking your name and looking oh-so-ever fine
Shining with declining light that’s lined with scented, soft quicklime
Now he’s waiting for the mating, knowing that it’s feeding time
And he prays that for today his prey is you.
