Painful pathways

when my light shines through,
Why do you stand in my darkness
breeding the discontent that is you.
Why do you spread this hate
that drives deep into my soul,
Why do you show no mercy,
Not a bit at all?
You turn away and leave me,
Hurt and all alone,
You befriend the enemym
This pain I've never known.
To find something so good,
and watch it turn black,
Is just another dagger
stabbed into my back.
Thankyou for your friendship,
as short lived as it was,
I decided to choose another pathway to walk,
That little friendship was enough.
