"in god we trust"

Written by Citadel
The silence of the city streets
Defaced by victory and defeat
Replaced as focal points by sleet
That brings the poisoned rain,
Is nothing when compared to us
The victors children in the dust
Our mantra still "in God we trust"
We chant to numb the pain

It all began one autumn day
When the old order passed away
As planes flew over the cliché,
That we were all immune
Two towers and the Pentagon
One nation with all reason gone
Unleashing global "Desert-Storm"
As we embraced our tomb

For Bin Laden, just one son of man
We killed thousands of Taliban
We ousted Iraq and Iran
Yet still their came the tide
Of fanatical unholy men
Who struck our children once again
Replaying us our mutual game
Of global suicide

You cannot end a global war
When you don't even know the score
Or what the #### they're fighting for
When they unleash the plague
Instead we raised the stakes so high
We nuked, one final desperate try
To end the disease-eaten cries
And stop the renegades

The silent ghosts still came to stay
They blew our paradise away
Our cities now lie in decay,
Their nation's burning still.
In God we trusted, as them too
It blinded both to simple truth
That evil is what good men do
When they forget His will.
