Looming new year

The sun's shining through,
Beaming on down,
Lifting the spirits of all those around,
Lightening the mood.
It's time for us to be moving on,
Whether we like it or not,
To say our farewell's and let that be it,
On occasion keeping in touch, but usually not.
Being grateful that we crossed paths,
No matter for how long,
From mere seconds to years,
They all play a part in shaping our life.
A time to wipe the slate clean and start a fresh,
To not hold any grudges or be full of regrets.
Let all be said and done,
Before the stroke of midnight hits,
For there is no turning back,
To change history,
As we're taken from the year of now history's past,
To the year of the new, the future,
Where the unknown now lies.
Hahaha ... well I wasn't intending this poem to reach the outcome it has ... it kinda sounds like a New Year's Poem really now huh, hence the name I've now choosen for it.
Hope that you all celebrate the New Year in style. He's a few 's to get you all started . I look forward to reading more of your work in the New Year and that 2003 is even better for you than 2002 was!
